Have you all heard about IKEA hacks? I had seen it here and there on Pinterest, then when I saw Caitlin's post about them, I was immediately intrigued and knew I had to dig deeper into this phenomenon.
IKEA hacking is a two step process:
Step 1: Buy an inexpensive piece of furniture
Step 2: Make it ten times cuter with paint and/or new hardware
Here are a few that I have found and loved:
Caitlin transformed the $49.99 Harry Chair with a simple sharpie pen:

Ana transformed the $70 VITTSJO Shelving Unit with a little gold spray paint:

Here is the $34.99 RAST 3 Drawer Chest completely transformed with pink paint, campaign style drawer pulls, and some brass flat corners:

After:
Lastly, Amanda bought the $139 MALM Dresser in White and added a glass top. She then purchased Greek Key Fet overlays from O'verlays, spray painted them gold, and stuck them to the front:

Aren't these unbelievable? I am visiting IKEA this weekend and and have few ideas in mind. Stay tuned! In the meantime, head over to IKEA Hackers for more ideas.

That is so cool! I wish I had the creativity to do that. Maybe someday. ): With LOTS of practice.
